Small World of Friends

by Chaplain Andrews on February 23, 2009

I’m in Kuwait this evening waiting to travel home.  Interestingly enough, I had the unique opportunity to visit with a senior Chaplain, who happened to sit down with me at chow.

I had noticed him earlier when he walked into the DFAC–it is hard to miss the Cross on his uniform and the rank on his chest.  I was planning on saying hello when I was finished eating, but he sat down with me.  This is interesting being that it was definitely a random occurance, because I’m not even in uniform.

We had a wonderful chat about his new job, my current job, and our families.

What was incredibly wonderful about this experience was that, I thoroughly enjoyed meeting another chaplain passing through the travel zone, and for a brief moment receiving a wealth of mentoring on what it means to be a very good Chaplain.
